Disney announces new streaming price increases coming
The company is adjusting prices on nearly all of its streaming services in the next few weeks.
Disney is becoming quite predictable with its streaming price increases. The company has updated help center pages for its various streaming services, informing customers that the price of its streamers will rise once again this fall. Almost exactly one year after its last price hike, Disney revealed on Tuesday how much viewers can expect to pay once the new prices are in effect.
Key Details:
- Unhappy Halloween: Price increases drop on Disney streamers starting on Oct. 21.
- Nearly all affected: Standalone streamers and bundled options are all jumping in price.
- Unlimited customers escape: Customers with an ESPN Unlimited Disney Bundle will not see their price rise yet.

Disney will put its new prices into effect on Oct. 21, one year and four days after last raising its streaming rates. Viewers of many Disney-owned streaming services and bundles will be affected; standalone Disney+ Basic with ads subscriptions will cost $12 per month, and the ad-free plan is rising from $16 to $19 monthly. Hulu with ads will jump to the same $12 per month, but ad-free Hulu will remain at $19 per month.
ESPN Select, which holds all the content formerly found on ESPN+, is going up in price by $1 per month, and will cost $13 monthly from Oct. 21 onward. ESPN Select is the lower-cost tier of the new ESPN direct-to-consumer product; the higher-priced tier, ESPN Unlimited, was launched in August at a price of $30 per month, where it will remain.
Disney Bundle customers will not be spared any price increases either; the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu Basic bundle is jumping from $11 to $13 per month, and the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select Bundle is rising from $17 to $20 per month. Finally, the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select Premium bundle (no ads on Disney+ or Hulu) is increasing from $27 to $30 per month.
The live TV streaming service Hulu + Live TV will also increase in price; Hulu + Live TV with Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select is jumping from $83 per month to $90, and the cost to stream ad-free on Disney+ and Hulu will jump from $96 to $100 within this bundle. Viewers who sign up for Hulu + Live TV only, with no on-demand streamers, will have to pay $89 per month.
The Disney+, HBO Max, and Hulu bundles are also jumping in price, going as high as $33 per month depending on which plan you choose.
In essence, the only viewers who won’t see their prices increase when the Disney price increase in October are viewers who have the Disney+ and Hulu Duo Premium bundle (staying at $20 per month), those who get standalone Hulu without ads, or those who signed up for an ESPN Unlimited bundle when those became available on Aug. 21. Check out the new prices for each Disney service and bundle in the table below.
