Pokemon has a new distribution deal with Disney+.

Disney has a knack for attracting the biggest franchises in the world, no matter if the target audience is kids or adults. The company has announced a new agreement with The Pokémon Company International, which will bring Pokémon series, old and new, to the streamer in territories around the world.

Key Details:

  • I choose you!: Disney+ has a new distribution deal with The Pokémon Company International.
  • New adventure: A new stop-motion Pokémon series will arrive on Disney+ and Disney XD in 2027.
  • Streaming now: “Pokémon The Series: The Beginning” arrived on Disney+ in early August.

The new global distribution deal between Disney and The Pokémon Company International will expand Disney+’s access to Pokémon titles. The streamer will be able to offer “Pokémon the Series: The Beginning” internationally as part of the deal; Disney+ added the first 27 episodes of the show in the United States in early August, and fans can also find it on the Disney XD cable channel.

The deal will also allow Disney+ to stream a brand-new Pokémon series titled “Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu,” which will arrive in 2027. Created by the beloved animation studio Aardman, the show will also air on Disney XD.

“Pokémon has that rare ability to mean something to longtime fans while continuing to feel completely relevant to young audiences today,” Disney executive Ayo Davis said.. “This new series ‘Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu’ brings Aardman’s signature stop-motion artistry with a bold, playful new perspective to this beloved world, giving audiences a fresh way to experience the characters they know and love. Along with ‘Pokémon the Series: The Beginning,’ these series are powerful additions to Disney XD and Disney+.”

“Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu” will follow its titular Pokémon heroes on an epic journey through the Galar region, determined to help and protect Pokémon across the area. While their missions don’t always go according to plan, their noble deeds forge bonds of friendship that can survive any peril.
