Does Frndly TV have an autoplay feature of any kind?

As a cheaper live TV streaming service, Frndly TV may not have the same functionality as other streaming services.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly streaming service that comes in at a low price, Frndly TV is the way to go. Frndly comes with a small selection of cable channels that the whole family can safely enjoy, as well as on-demand content and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels for a starting price under $10 per month.

Oftentimes, however, lower-priced streaming services like Frndy TV don’t include the same type of control over settings as other streaming services do. Does that extend to the autoplay setting? We took a look at Frndly TV to see if the streamer has autoplay controls of any kind, and we’ll give you the results.

Everything you need to know about autoplay on Frndly TV

Does Frndly TV have autoplay settings?

Unfortunately, nowhere in the Frndly TV user interface is any type of control over autoplay available. The service does have DVR recording ability on its Classic and Premium plans, but no matter how many episodes you record to watch on demand, you will not be able to stream with autoplay in any fashion with Frndly TV.

Frndly also does not give viewers any control over whether or not they see preview windows for streaming channels. Many live TV streaming services do offer pop-out channel preview windows that you can exercise some level of control over, but Frndly TV doesn’t have that setting in any of its menus either.

What Frndly does offer is a 72-hour rewind, an innovative feature that lets you look back on titles you missed over the past three days on channels in your Frndly package. Once again, however, you will not be able to enjoy any kind of autoplay functionality with the 72-hour lookback feature.

Will Frndly TV offer any autoplay control going forward?

The entire Frndly TV app could be in line for an upgrade in the coming months, though there is no concrete evidence to suggest it will actually happen. What we do know is that Frndly TV is being taken over by Roku, which is usually known for presenting a customer-friendly experience with its products. Adding more features like autoplay to Frndly TV isn’t out of the realm of possibility at all, but there are no such announced plans for now.
