Does any of Tubi’s library stream in 4K?
Tubi is one of the best free streamers out there, but does it come with a lineup of 4K shows and movies?
Tubi is among the top free streamers on the market, if it’s not the best outright. It’s got a fantastic selection of content, with kids’ shows, a great movie library, and even original series that offer a diverse and representative cast — and you don’t even need a subscription to watch it.
But another differentiating factor for any streaming service is 4K content availability, and that includes free streamers like Tubi. Does this service come with any 4K content? We took a look, and we’ve got the details of our experiment below.
Everything you need to know about 4K streaming on Tubi
Does Tubi have 4K on-demand shows or movies?
As mentioned above, Tubi has a large selection of on-demand TV shows and films. Unfortunately, Ultra-High-Definition 4K streaming isn’t available on any of those titles. Streaming on Tubi tops out in 720p, so that 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution will elude you no matter what on-demand titles you want to stream.
Does Tubi have any FAST channels in 4K?
Again, no. While Tubi has hundreds of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels, including live sports and other selections, it does not stream any of these channels in UHD 4K.
Has Tubi presented any content in 4K?
Yes, it has! Tubi offered a live stream of LIX in February 2025, and that game was offered in 4K on the streamer as it was on Fox and other platforms. Tubi doesn’t carry live sports on that level too often, but the Big Game demanded a UHD presentation.
Will Tubi come with any 4K content in the future?
Tubi is owned by Fox, and the Fox broadcast channel is one of the only major TV networks that regularly broadcasts in 4K. Doing so is technologically challenging, but Fox has made a name for itself by offering big NFL games, MLB games, and more in 4K.
So far, that hasn’t led to any more 4K events on Tubi, aside from the Super Bowl. The streaming service may end up offering more 4K events simulcast from Fox in the future, or even on-demand content, but there are no announced plans to do so at the moment.
Tubi
Tubi is a free video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 200,000+ movies and TV episodes - more than any other streaming service. Its ad breaks are shorter and less frequent than most free services. Fox executives have called their service “TV on steroids.”
