Does AMC+ allow you to download shows and movies?
Does AMC+ allow you to download shows and movies?
AMC+ may be a little light on features as compared to some other services; does it allow for downloads?
AMC+ clocks in at a much lower price than most other streaming services, and indeed is one of the only streamers left that has an ad-free tier for $10 per month or less. But the lower price on AMC+ can also mean the service offers fewer features than other platforms; for example, AMC+ does not build any parental controls into its app.
Downloading TV shows and movies for offline viewing is a feature of some of the most popular streamers on the market, but not all on-demand streamers offer it. What about AMC+? Does its lack of other features point to an absence of the ability to download titles on the service? We dig into that question here!
What you need to know about downloading TV shows or movies on AMC+
Can you download TV shows and movies on AMC+?
Yes, you can download TV shows and movies with an AMC+ subscription. To do so, navigate to the details page of the show or movie you want to save to your device, then locate and click the download button. Viewers will then be able to find those titles in a special downloads section on the AMC+ app.
What devices can you use to download shows and movies on AMC+?
Unfortunately, AMC+ offers incredibly few details to non-subscribers about its downloads. It doesn’t provide a list of devices that you can use to download shows and movies, but it’s safe to assume that you can use Android and iOS mobile devices to do so. It’s highly improbable that you can download AMC+ titles onto a computer or on any smart TVs or connected streaming devices.
What limits does AMC+ put on its downloads?
AMC+ likely limits the ability to download TV shows and movies in ways similar to other streaming services; that is, it almost certainly has a limit on how many TV episodes and movies a user is allowed to download, and on how long those titles remain available after being downloaded.
However, there are no actual details available from AMC+ on the matter. The streamer’s terms of service address downloaded titles, but says only “Certain Content may be available for temporary download on certain supported devices and certain subscriptions for offline viewing when you do not have a network connection. Limitations and expiration rules may apply, including the amount of Content available for download, maximum number of downloads, and geographic and device restrictions.”
While it’s only conjecture, it’s likely that AMC+ makes a large selection of titles on its platform available for download, but not all. In addition, the streamer probably allows for the downloading of up to 25 titles or so at a time, and will probably let you keep these downloads for up to 30 days if you haven’t started watching them.
