ESPN+ Will Raise the Cost of Pay-Per-Views in Upcoming Price Hike

ESPN+ prices will rise with most other Disney streaming products starting Oct. 17.

ESPN+ hikes subscription rates for annual and monthly plans on Oct. 17.

The onset of October means it’s time once again to brace for another price increase for Disney streaming service. The company announced in August that it was raising subscription costs for all of its standalone streaming services, and most of its Disney Bundle configurations as well. ESPN+ has unveiled new details about its upcoming price hike that viewers will want to take special note of before the increase is carried out.

Key Details:

  • ESPN+ is increasing in price from $11 per month to $12.
  • Pay-per-view prices on ESPN+ are staying at their current level of $79.99 each.
  • Disney streaming prices rise beginning Thursday, Oct. 17.
ESPN+ offers thousands of sporting events per year, including select Monday Night Football games and more.

The cost of a monthly ESPN+ subscription will rise from $11 per month to $12. Disney offers an annual subscription of ESPN+ as well, and this too is increasing in cost, rising from $110 per year to $120; that breaks out to $10 per month, a savings of $2 over the monthly option. These price changes go into effect as of Thursday, Oct. 17.

The good news is that pay-per-view costs won’t change for ESPN+, at least not in the immediate future. Customers who sign up during early-bird windows will still be able to by UFC pay-per-views for $70 each, while those who miss the early sign-up period will see the cost stay at $80.

Package Former Price New Price
ESPN+ Monthly Subscription $11 per month $12 per month
ESPN+ Annual Subscription $110 per year $120 per year
PPV Package + Monthly Subscription $91 $92
Ealy Bird PPV Package + Monthly Subscription $81 $82
Early Bird PPV Package + Annual Subscription $120 $125
Early Bird PPV Standalone $70 No increase
PPV Standalone $80 No increase
PPV Package + Annual Subscription $135, then $110 per year $135, then $119.99 per year

Disney is increasing the subscription rate for ESPN+ and its other streaming services for the third year in a row. In the past 26 months, the price of ESPN+ has risen from $7 per month to $12 as of the new increase in October, almost doubling in cost.

This could be the last time Disney ever enacts a price increase on ESPN+. The company is planning to launch a new ESPN streaming service in 2025 that will offer much more content currently found only on the linear ESPN family of channels. Once that service launches, there may not be much of a need for ESPN+ to continue as a standalone option.
