What is ‘Étoile’ about?
Ballet dancers look so elegant, so incredibly well-rehearsed, and so eminently talented on stage. But as fans will see in “Étoile,” there’s a side to ballet that even the most devoted attendees never get to see.
The show will follow a pair of world-renowned ballet companies that are struggling to attract the kind of crowds they once did. In order to save their sinking fortunes, the two companies decide on an ambitious plan: swapping their most talented performers. What could possibly go wrong?
Who creators behind ‘Étoile’?
The show is from the prolific television team of Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino, and this is not the husband-and-wife team’s first foray into the world of ballet. The pair previously collaborated on the canceled-too-soon “Bunheads.”
The pair is most known for their hit series “Gilmore Girls” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” both of which Amy created and Dan served as an executive producer on.
Who will star in ‘Étoile’?
Prime Video devotees will recognize Luke Kirby from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” The show will also feature Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou de Laâge, Gideon Glick, David Alvarez, Ivan du Pontavice, Taïs Vinolo, David Haig, LaMay Zhang, and Simon Callow. Yanic Truesdale will also appear in the series as a recurring guest.
Can you stream ‘Étoile’ for free?
Yes, you can, if you’ve never subscribed to Amazon Prime before. Prime Video is included as a benefit of the larger Prime subscription, and new customers get a 30-day free trial of Prime when they initially sign up. If you decide you sign up for Prime Video outside of Prime, you will not be offered the free trial.
