I’ve been trying to cook more at home lately, much to my wife’s delight, and it’s been an adventure figuring out new recipes that are easy enough for me not to seriously screw up (and unfortunately, the days of grilled cheese are gone). That’s why I’ve had fun diving into cooking shows on Tastemade+. This streaming service is packed with cooking, travel, and lifestyle content that makes exploring new foods, flavors, and culinary skills both fun and accessible. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just trying to spice up your weeknight dinners, Tastemade+ is a great resource. Here’s everything you need to know about this streaming service for food and travel lovers.

Everything you need to know about Tastemade+

What is Tastemade+?

If you’re like me and trying to cook more at home, Tastemade+ has plenty to offer. The subscription-based streaming service (available as a Prime Video channel) combines food, travel, and home content in a way that feels approachable and fun. For beginner cooks, shows like “Struggle Meals” are a solid starting point, with easy, budget-friendly recipes that don’t require a ton of experience. Plus, you’ll find plenty of bite-sized episodes and clips, perfect for learning quick skills like knife techniques or making a simple sauce. It’s all about making cooking enjoyable without feeling overwhelming.

Tastemade+ also has a travel side that’s all about exploring the world through food. Shows like “Luke Nguyen’s Street Food Asia” dive into the vibrant street food culture of different countries, giving you a glimpse into unique dishes and the stories behind them. Whether you’re craving global flavors or just curious about what people eat on the other side of the world, it’s like a mini vacation for your taste buds.

Beyond food and travel, Tastemade+ has something for anyone who loves home projects or design. From stylish room makeovers to DIY crafts, it’s packed with ideas to spruce up your space. They even feature seasonal content, like holiday baking or summer grilling, so there’s always something timely and relevant to check out.

As someone who’s still learning their way around the kitchen, what I like most about the service is how accessible and welcoming it is—there’s no pressure to be perfect, just encouragement to keep getting better.

Now, I have to mention that while you can sign up via Prime Video, you can also subscribe through their website, which (at a higher price point), will get you additional content. You’ll have access to over 12,000 recipes, weekly meal plans, and cooking videos that walk you through the basics. There’s also a Virtual Recipe Box where you can save your favorite recipes to keep everything in one place. On top of that, you’ll get to watch over 1,000 hours of food and lifestyle shows and even have access to exclusive events. Plus, they’ll throw in Jamie Oliver’s “5 Ingredient Mediterranean” cookbook for free, which is a nice bonus.

How much does Tastemade+ cost?

Tastemade+ costs just $3 per month through Prime Video or $6 per month (or $50 per year) through their website. We suggest the Prime Video subscription because it gets you an ad-free experience that easily integrates into your streaming setup, as well as a seven-day free trial so you can see if you like the content before committing. Plus, it’s cheaper!

There are plenty of popular cooking, travel, and design shows on Tastemade+. One of my favorites is “Struggle Meals,” a show that’s perfect for anyone looking to make solid meals without breaking the bank. I don’t know about you, but the price of groceries seems to go up every time I go shopping. This show, hosted by Frankie Celenza, focuses on creating budget-friendly recipes using everyday ingredients. Frankie’s fun, no-frills approach makes cooking feel doable, even if you’re new to the kitchen. Whether you’re trying to save money, reduce food waste, or just learn a few new tricks, “Struggle Meals” proves that great food doesn’t have to come with a massive price tag.

For anyone curious about vegan eating but afraid it’s all salads and tofu, “Raw. Vegan. Not Gross.” proves otherwise. Hosted by Laura Miller, who brings plenty of laughs to her plant-based cuisine, she shares a range of raw and vegan recipes that are both flavorful and easy to prepare, aiming to dispel the notion that vegan food is bland or unappealing. From hearty main courses to indulgent desserts, the show offers something for everyone, whether you’re a committed vegan or just looking to incorporate more plant-based meals into your diet. This series might even convince you to try avocado in a whole new way (guacamole is still my jam though).

If you’ve ever felt like baking has too many rules, Tastemade+ carries “The Unruly Baker” to shake things up. Hosted by chef and food stylist Christine Flynn, the show encourages bakers to experiment and have fun in the kitchen. Christine shares a bunch of different recipes, from pastries to desserts, all while emphasizing that baking doesn’t have to be precise to be delicious. It’s a cool take on baking that encourages both newbies and seasoned bakers to enjoy the process and embrace their inner “unruly” baker.

For anyone interested in how food can be used as a platform for activism and social justice, there’s the series, “Broken Bread.” Celebrated chef Roy Choi explores the intersections of food, culture, and social issues in Los Angeles. Each episode delves into topics such as food justice, sustainability, and community activism, highlighting individuals and organizations using food as a vehicle for change. Roy’s journey sheds light on the power of food to bring people together, offering a thought-provoking look at the impact of our food choices.

Switching gears a little from food to travel (though they are intricately connected!), there’s the series “World’s Most Incredible Hotels.” This show takes you inside some of the most unique and breathtaking stays around the world. From luxurious resorts in stunning locations to quirky boutique hotels you’ve never heard of, this series is a feast for travel lovers. Each episode provides an inside look at the design, perks, and stories that make these hotels stand out, offering travel enthusiasts inspiration for their next adventure or a glimpse into the world of high-end hospitality.

Finally, for those more comfortable in an RV or well-equipped van than a hotel room, this next series is for you. “Jimmy Doherty’s Dream Builds on Wheels,” hosted by Jimmy Doherty, follows creative DIYers transforming everything from old buses to camper vans into incredible mobile homes. Jimmy brings a fun and curious energy to each project, highlighting the passion and ingenuity behind these one-of-a-kind builds. Whether you’re serious about downsizing, dreaming of road trips, or just love a good transformation story, this series is an inspiring look at how people turn their vehicles into fully functional and beautiful homes on wheels.
