Chick-fil-A wants to give you a new way to stay entertained while you wait in one of its drive-through lines. The restaurant is launching a new app dubbed “Chick-fil-A Play,” which will offer streaming video, activities, and much more. Very few fast food restaurants offer their own streaming services, so if you’ve got questions about Chick-fil-A Play, read everything you need to know about the new app below!

What is Chick-fil-A Play?

Chick-fil-A Play has streaming video content, but it’s more of an all-in-one entertainment app. The company bills it as the “ultimate digital playground,” a place for families with children of all ages to go for entertainment without worrying about seeing the type of objectionable content that can be all too easy to access on regular streaming services.

Are there TV shows and movies on Chick-fil-A Play?

Chick-fil-A Play will offer some original TV shows, including “Legends of Evergreen Hills,” an animated show taking place in a fantastical world that will set the imaginations of kids alight. These shows will be free to stream, but viewers shouldn’t expect to find a huge selection of licensed content or free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on the service.

Will Chick-Fil-A Play add more streaming content?

It’s unlikely that Chick-fil-A Play will ever grow to the size and scope of a streamer like Pluto TV or The Roku Channel. It’s a highly curated app, and streaming video has intentionally been made one part of a larger entertainment ecosystem there, rather than being the main focus of the app. Things could change, but as of now, I don’t think Chick-fil-A Play will ever make efforts to license a huge library of more mainstream content.

What else is on Chick-Fil-A Play?

The Chick-fil-A Play app also includes kid-friendly podcasts, games and activities, recipes and craft instructional videos, and even animated books. Its content expands far beyond the scope of a normal streaming service, and it’s all meant to be enjoyed by members of the whole family.

Is Chick-Fil-A Play free?

Yep! There’s no cost to download or use Chick-fil-A Play’s new app.

Does Chick-fil-A Play come with free food offers?

At the moment, it doesn’t appear Chick-fil-A is using its new app to distribute digital coupons or other discounts for its menu. It’s more of a way for the restaurant chain to create an even deeper connection with customers who already eat there.

What devices can you use to stream Chick-fil-A Play?

Chick-fil-A Play is available on Android and iOS mobile devices now. There is no way to watch its streaming content via the web, or on connected TV apps at the moment.
