What is ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ about?

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is set in the retro-futuristic 1960s, at a time when Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm, and Sue Storm have accepted their roles as Earth’s only superheroes, the Fantastic Four. They’re accustomed to being the planet’s most staunch protectors, but when a terrifying cosmic being called Galactus descends on the hapless world, even their combined powers as Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing might not be enough to stop him — especially when Galactus makes an offer to Reed and Sue that no parent could ever accept.
