Fubo Channel Store launches with extra subscriptions, more
Fubo now has its answer to YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels platform.
YouTube TV has its hands full dealing with a carriage dispute with Disney, but Fubo is throwing down the gauntlet at the competing live TV streaming service anyway. On Wednesday, Fubo announced the launch of the Fubo Channel Store, a digital platform that lets customers shop for and add additional streaming subscriptions, which is highly reminiscent of YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels store.
Key Details:
- Shop now: The Fubo Channel Store is now available.
- No strings attached: Customers do not have to be subscribed to a paid Fubo plan to use the Fubo Channel Store.
- Sports and more: The Channel Store offers direct-to-consumer services from regional sports networks, and more.
The Fubo Channel Store is a central location where customers can shop for premium, standalone streaming subscriptions. Once subscribed, viewers can access their premium programming in one central hub without having to leave the Fubo app to watch it all.
Viewers do not have to be subscribed to a paid Fubo channel plan to use the Channel Store. If you sign up for a subscription through the Fubo Channel Store, you also get access to Fubo Free, which offers nearly 200 free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels.
“At Fubo, we have always leaned into our proprietary tech stack to differentiate the user experience and solve consumer pain points,” Fubo CEO David Gandler said. “We hear consumers’ frustration with having to switch between multiple apps to access their favorite content. The Fubo Channel Store offers an aggregated and ingested experience for standalone plans, which include direct-to-consumer services, and delivers it to consumers through a single frictionless experience.”
Premium subscriptions available at the launch of the Fubo Channel Store include Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, Hallmark+, MGM+, DAZN One, and STARZ, as well as direct-to-consumer services from multiple regional sports networks around the United States. These last will only be available in the regions where those RSNs are available on TV.
There will likely be more additions to the Fubo Channel Store going forward, especially with Disney set to assume majority control of Fubo. Check out the options available now, and let us know in the comments what you think of the Fubo Channel Store!
