Google TVs to incorporate more Gemini AI features
Viewers will be able to deep dive into their favorite topics, adjust settings with ease, and more with the new addition of Gemini features.
The further integration of artificial intelligence into technology related to streaming is continuing. That was the essence of an announcement by Google on Monday at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas; starting this year, the Google TV operating system will begin incorporating even more features from Google’s AI Gemini.
Key Details:
- Getting smarter: Google TV is adding a host of new AI features from Gemini.
- Adjust your settings: Viewers will be able to adjust complex settings with voice prompts, and more, thanks to the update.
- Phased rollout: TCL devices using the Google TV OS will get the new features first.
Google TV’s new Gemini features will allow viewers to dive into their favorite topics in a new interface framework. Gemini will adapt responses to queries with images, videos, and real-time sports updates, and “Deep dives” into certain TV topics will even be narrated and accompanied by interactive overviews.
Viewers will also be able to use Gemini to search through their Google Photos library on their TV screen, using specific requests to search for people or moments in photographic time. Users can even use the Nano Banana engine to edit and change their personal photos.
When watching TV or a movie, viewers will be able to use these Gemini features to brighten or dim the screen, or to switch to an enhanced dialogue listening mode without having to use any settings menus or click around with the remote; one simple voice prompt will get the job done.
These new AI integrations will be made available on all Google TV devices. They’re set to roll out on sets made by TCL first, so if you own a TCL TV with the Google TV operating system, you’re in luck! Otherwise, the enhancements will make their way to your Google TV device in the coming months.
