When will ‘Hoppers’ be hopping onto Disney+?
When will ‘Hoppers’ be hopping onto Disney+?
The new Disney and Pixar animated feature hits theaters on Friday, so how long will you have to wait to watch it at home?
If you had the chance to hop inside an animal’s mind to communicate with nature, would you do it? Science unlocks that ability with hilarious results in the new Disney animated film “Hoppers,” which arrives in theaters on Friday, March 6. How much longer of a wait will it be before the movie becomes available on Disney+? We’ll give our best guess here.
Key Details:
- Hopping with joy: Critics are loving “Hoppers” on Rotten Tomatoes.
- Disney to Disney: As a Disney Pixar movie, “Hoppers” will stream on Disney+.
- Summertime fun: A wait of 100 days or more for “Hoppers” to stream is likely.

“Hoppers” transports viewers into a world where scientists have figured out how to “hop” human consciousness into realistic robotic animals — allowing animals to communicate with other animals for the first time! It’s too good an opportunity to miss for the animal-obsessed Mabel, who uses the technology to immerse herself in a world more beautiful and complex than she ever could have imagined.
Thus far, critics who have screened “Hoppers” have been nearly universal in their praise. The movie has a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and while preview audience reviews haven’t been released yet, it’s highly likely the movie will be seen as yet another triumph from Pixar when it’s all said and done.

When will ‘Hoppers’ be available to stream at home?
Since “Hoppers” is a Disney and Pixar film, there isn’t much room for doubt as to where it will stream when its time on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms and in cinemas is over. Disney+ will be the only place to stream the movie on demand when the time comes.
Audiences are going to have to wait for warmer weather, however. “Elio,” last year’s summer release from Disney, streamed 89 days after its initial theatrical premiere. The last Pixar movie to hit theaters was “Inside Out 2,” which didn’t stream on Disney+ until 103 days after its premiere.
“Hoppers” will lean toward the latter window in our opinion. I’ll predict that the film will be ready to stream on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 17, which would be 103 days after its debut in theaters. If that holds true, it will be the perfect way for kids to settle into the fun of summer vacation!
