Here’s how to add a new profile to your Disney+ account

Here’s how to add a new profile to your Disney+ account

Disney+ lets you set up profiles for the whole family, and we’ll show you how to do it here.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.

As a streaming service with a huge selection of kids’ content, the ability to use multiple profiles on Disney+ is invaluable. Giving families the ability to set up distinct profiles is especially important for those with picky kids who don’t want their home pages cluttered up by a sibling’s watch history.

Disney+ lets you set up multiple profiles, but how is it done? We’ll give you step-by-step instructions on how to set up a profile, using Junior profiles on Disney+, and more.

Everything you need to know about new profiles on Disney+

How many profiles can you set up on Disney+?

In addition to the subscription owner’s profile, you can set up six more profiles on Disney+, adding up to seven total. It’s perfect for even big families who need to share with lots of people in the same household.

How to add a Disney+ profile

When you’re logged into Disney+, find the profile icon on the home page — on a web browser it’s in the top-right corner, on mobile, bottom-right, and on a connected TV app it’s in the left-hand menu — and choose Add Profiles or Edit Profile.

From there, you can add a new profile by choosing an avatar from the list of options, then entering a profile name. At this point, you’ll also be able to enable parental controls by switching the profile into Junior Mode, but you can also adjust content settings on any profile later.

Can you transfer profiles with Disney+?

Yes, if you have a person in your household who is leaving to start a Disney+ subscription of their own, they can transfer their profile and hit the ground running.

To do this, try to log in to your Disney+ account from the new household of the person who wants to transfer profiles. When you see the message “This TV doesn’t seem to be part of the Disney+ household for this account,” follow the profile transfer instructions that appear on screen.

Can you change profile settings on Disney+?

Most assuredly. Go back to the profile icon on the Disney+ home page, and click the profile you want to edit. From there, you can change the profile name, avatar, autoplay settings, background video settings, app language, content rating, profile pin, turn on Junior Mode, and use the kid-proof exit.

Can you delete a profile with Disney+?

Certainly. Just go back into the edit profile settings for the profile you want to delete, then scroll to Delete Profile. Confirm your selection, and that profile is done!

The Premium plan also offers an annual option for $189.99 / year ($15.83/mo.).

If you’d like to add Hulu, you can bundle the two services as well, but Disney+ is also continuing to integrate the two, which will soon be an all-in-one offering.

Sports fans can also bundle ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited, with or without ads.

Disney+ most recently raised prices on September 23, 2026 — the fourth time in as many years.

The app supports unlimited downloads (on their Premium Plans), four simultaneous streamers, up to 7 profiles, 4K streaming, and includes hundreds of avatars.

The service includes 25+ original series, 10+ original movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles, including the entire Disney Vault.
