Adding streaming services to a Meta Quest is easy!

Adding streaming services to a Meta Quest is easy!

The Meta Quest offers some dedicated apps, but also allows viewers to stream content through its browser.

The Meta Quest line of virtual and mixed reality headsets is helping owners feel like the future has arrived, as indeed it has. These headsets can transport you into another world entirely, allowing you to play incredible games, or to watch TV shows and movies like you’re sitting in a private movie theater all your own.

But how do you add streaming services to a Meta Quest headset? It’s very simple to do, and I’ll walk you through instructions for watching all your favorites with a Meta Quest device below!

How to set up streaming services on Meta Quest headset

Step-by-step instructions for setting up streaming services on Meta Quest

  1. Put on your Meta Quest headset.
  2. Navigate to the Meta Quest store.
  3. Browse available apps.
  4. Download the apps you want and start watching!

Which streaming apps does Meta Quest support?

There aren’t many dedicated streaming apps for Meta Quest devices as of yet. Most streamers haven’t gone to the trouble of making apps for VR headsets because there simply aren’t enough users on those devices quite yet.

The Meta Quest does have apps for Peacock, Pluto TV, and YouTube available. Netflix formerly had an app for Quest headsets, but it was discontinued during the summer of 2024. The good news is that the Quest 3 supports browser-based streaming, so you can watch Netflix, Disney+, Max, and other streamers by navigating to their websites on these devices.

Can you watch content in 4K on Meta Quest?

Some models, including the Meta Quest 3 include the ability to stream Ultra-High-Definition 4K content. Meta calls it the 4K+ Infinite display, and as long as the content you’re trying to watch is offered in 4K in the first place, you can use a 4K-compatible Meta Quest to watch it.
