How to Cancel Disney+ Following Latest Price Increase Announcement

The price of ad-free Disney+ has doubled in the past two years, and we’ll give you step-by-step instructions of you’d like to cancel.

Disney+ is raising streaming prices yet again, and if it's time to cancel viewers can use this handy guide.

Disney+ is raising prices yet again. Ahead of Disney’s third fiscal quarter earnings report on Wednesday, the company announced it was raising subscription rates on all three of its streaming services, as well as most of its bundle options. The price of ad-free Disney+ Premium is increasing to $15.99 per month on its own, meaning it will have seen a 100% increase in price since fall of 2022. If you’re ready to give up on Disney+ like our own Jared DiPane, you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to cancel the service below.

Key Details:

  • Disney+ subscribers can cancel their service any time.
  • Canceling in the middle of a billing cycle will still grant you access to the service until your next bill is due
  • Cheaper options to stream both with and without ads are available.

Step-by-Step Instructions for How to Cancel Disney+

There’s no involved process for trying to get out of your Disney+ contract like there would be with a cable subscription. It’s a fairly simple procedure, and I’ll walk you through it below.

  • Log into your Disney+ account.
  • Go to your profile icon (top right of the screen on desktop, bottom right on mobile).
  • Select “Account.”
  • Scroll to the “Your Plans & Billing” subheading, and click on your plan.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Cancel Subscription.”

Does Canceling Disney+ End Access to the Service Immediately?

Canceling Disney+ will still allow you to watch the streamer through the end of your current billing cycle.

No. If you cancel your Disney+ account, you will still have access to the streamer until the end of your current billing cycle. Customers will not be refunded for canceling in the middle of a cycle, however.

How to Cancel a Disney Bundle Subscription

If you’re signed up to Disney+ through the Disney Bundle, the steps for canceling are the same as above. You can log into Disney+ (or Hulu or ESPN+), access your settings in the “Account” tab, and cancel your subscription to the entire Disney Bundle in one fell swoop, instead of having to go around to all three services and cancel individually.

Disney+

Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”

Disney+ has several plans with or without ads. Disney+ Basic with Ads costs $9.99 / month. If you don’t want ads, you can choose Disney+ Premium with No Ads which costs $15.99 / month.

The Premium plan also offers an annual option for $159.99 / year ($13.33/mo.).

If you’d like to add Hulu, choose Duo Basic (with ads) for $10.99 / month. Duo Premium offers Hulu and Disney+ ad-free for $19.99 / month.

If you want all three Disney streaming services, you can choose Trio Basic (ad-supported) or Trio Premium (ad-free). The Trio plans offer Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (with Ads) for $9.99 / month. The Disney Bundle Premium (without Ads) for $26.99 / month.

The app supports unlimited downloads (on their Premium Plans), four simultaneous streamers, up to 7 profiles, 4K streaming, and includes hundreds of avatars.

The service includes 25+ original series, 10+ original movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault.

You can see the full list of available Disney, Disney Channel, Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, Nat Geo shows and movies, or all available Disney+ content by checking out our Disney+ Streaming Movie List.
