One of the last advantages streaming services have over old-school pay-TV subscriptions is that streamers allow viewers to cancel whenever they wish. There are no long-term contracts to get locked into from services like HBO Max and Prime Video, though that does expose customers to more price volatility. But free streaming services like Pluto TV operate a little differently. Most allow viewers to watch without creating an account at all, though doing so allows users to see their viewing history and adjust their settings. So, is it even possible to cancel Pluto TV? Find out here.

What you need to know about canceling Pluto TV

Can you cancel Pluto TV?

No, there is no way to “cancel” a Pluto TV subscription, because there is no way to subscribe to the streamer in the first place. Pluto TV is completely free and ad-supported, so there are no subscription options available; Pluto TV will never ask you for payment information of any kind.

You can create an account to watch the service, however. Doing so will sync your favorite channels, watchlists, and watch progress across all devices, and allow you to save favorite channels and on-demand titles for easier access.

How to delete a Pluto TV account

Although you cannot cancel Pluto TV, you can delete your Pluto TV account so the streamer no longer retains your watchlist or settings.

  • Sign in to your Pluto TV account.
  • Click your profile icon.
  • Choose Manage account.
  • Select Delete Account.
  • Type in your password to confirm.
