There’s no denying that the Disney+ streaming experience is better without ads. Watching the streamer’s collection of classic animated movies, beloved newer titles from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars titles, and more, without ads makes the experience a bit more magical — and a lot more bingeable. With all the Disney Bundle options available, customers who subscribe only to Disney+ may fear that upgrading is a ponderous exercise. It’s surprisingly simple to get your hands on an ad-free Disney+ subscription if you’re ready to upgrade, and we’ll explain how to do it and the benefits you’ll enjoy when you do here.

What you need to know about upgrading to ad-free Disney+

How many ad-free plans does Disney+ have?

If you want to subscribe to Disney+ by itself, you have just one option available to you: the Disney+ Premium plan. This option costs $19 per month, or $190 per year if customers would prefer to pay ahead and not worry about getting a monthly invoice.

The Disney+ website also allows ad-supported customers to upgrade to any ad-free versions of the Disney Bundle, including combinations with Hulu and ESPN Unlimited, as well as a bundle with Hulu and HBO Max with no ads. The Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited Premium bundle costs $45 per month, and the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max Premium combo costs $33 per month.

How to sign up for Disney+ Premium

If you’re ready to sign up for Disney+ Premium from an ad-supported plan, the first thing to do is sign into the streamer's website. Go to the account owner’s profile, and click the profile icon in the top-left corner of the screen. Click Account, then Change your plan at the top of the screen.

From here, you’ll see all the Disney+ bundle and plan options available to you. Scroll down and click the See more plans button to find Disney+ Premium, then choose between the monthly or annual subscription options. Confirm your choice and verify your account if asked by Disney+.

What are the benefits of Disney+ Premium?

Disney+ Premium supports Dolby Atmos audio and allows viewers to download TV shows and movies for offline viewing, in addition to allowing for ad-free playback.

Can you switch back to Disney+ with ads?

Yes, Disney+ will allow you to change back to an ad-supported plan whenever you desire. Just use the process laid out above to get back into the plan change screen and switch to an ad-supported option.
