All the pomp and circumstance of New Year’s Eve is coming to a TV near you on Tuesday night! Various networks will begin offering their New Year’s coverage at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 31 and continuing through midnight or later, helping viewers ring in 2025 in style. ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and PBS will all offer New Year’s countdown coverage, and you can stream on various channels with a subscription to Sling TV.

About 2025 New Year’s Eve countdown shows
Ryan Seacrest marks his 20th year as host of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” on ABC. He will return alongside co-host Rita Ora to lead the festivities from New York’s Times Square, with an all-star roster of artists including Carrie Underwood, Megan Moroney, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor set to perform.
On CBS, country music’s biggest stars like Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Tyler Hubbard, Miranda Lambert, Post Malone, Shaboozey, Brittney Spencer, Chris Stapleton, Zach Top, and Lainey Wilson will be on hand to celebrate on “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.” All in all, the night will feature 40 back-to-back live music performances from the home of the country music scene.
NBC will offer two different segments on New Year’s Eve; first, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager ring in the new year as they host a primetime, star-studded special featuring the year’s buzziest and brightest moments in “A Toast to 2024,” starting at 9 p.m. ET. Then at 11:30 p.m., Seth Meyers rings in the New Year by looking back on his many “Day Drinking” segments. While NBC encourages you to drink responsibly, they will show you many instances where Seth did NOT because he was hanging with Rihanna, Post Malone, Will Forte, Kelly Clarkson, Kristen Stewart, Kevin Hart, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lizzo, and Dua Lipa.
CNN will bring back Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are back for the eighth consecutive year as co-hosts of “CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.” Live from New York City’s Times Square, they’ll lead CNN’s global audience into 2025 with music, laughter, and live coverage from around the world featuring other CNN correspondents.
On PBS, “Sara Bareilles: New Year’s Eve With the National Symphony Orchestra & Friends” will feature a dynamic mix of artists across hip hop, jazz, modern dance, and more perform at the Kennedy Center. Each episode weaves together performances filmed live at the Center with intimate off-stage moments contextualizing each artist’s cultural impact.

Can you stream New Year’s Eve countdown shows for free?
