The 2024 Solheim Cup Golf Tournament is made up of foursomes and four-ball matches on days one and two, with 12 singles matches on Sunday afternoon to decide who wins. Foursomes are played by two players who compete as a team and alternate shots until they put the ball in the hole, while four-ball (better known as best ball) allows each play on a two-person team to hit their own ball on each hole, and the team takes the better score of the two individual golfers.
The tournament runs on a point structure, where teams get one point for a match victory, a half point for a tie, and no points in a loss. Then, on Sunday afternoon, each player on the U.S. and European Teams will go head-to-head with the same point structure. To keep the cup, Team Europe needs 14 points, while the Americans need 14.5 to become Solheim Cup champions.
