The start of spring means it’s officially soccer season in the United States. The 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season begins on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET and continues all the way through Sunday, Nov. 2, when the playoffs begin. Games will be played on CBS, CBS Sports Network, and Paramount+; ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+; as well as Ion and Prime Video. Why we chose Hulu + Live TV to watch the 2025 NWSL season

Hulu + Live TV offers a good mix of choice and a decent monthly price. For $83 per month, you’ll get every linear channel that will offer NWSL games except Ion in Hulu + Live TV’s base package, and Ion can be streamed for free on ad-supported platforms like Tubi or Pluto TV.

Another benefit of Hulu + Live TV subscriptions at this price is access to ESPN+ through the Disney Bundle. All games on ABC or ESPN platforms will stream on ESPN+, so you can pick whichever way to stream you want when watching.

Hulu Live TV

Hulu Live TV is a live TV streaming service with more than 70 channels for $89.99 per month. Hulu + Live TV base plan includes local channels 32 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs). Subscribers get free access to Disney+ and ESPN Select at no extra charge.

…

Where it really separates itself is value. Your subscription doesn’t just cover live TV — it also includes full access to Hulu’s on-demand library, plus bundled subscriptions to Disney+ and ESPN Select content at no extra cost. That means you’re getting everything from next-day network TV episodes and Hulu Originals, to Marvel, Star Wars, and live sports content all in one place without juggling multiple bills.

For sports fans, Hulu + Live TV also includes regional sports networks (RSNs) in select areas, a feature many competing services have dropped. That can be a big deal if you’re trying to follow local MLB, NBA, or NHL teams.

The DVR experience is another strong point. Subscribers get unlimited cloud DVR storage and the ability to fast-forward through commercials on recorded content — a feature that used to cost extra but is now standard. It’s designed to feel closer to a traditional cable DVR, just without the box.

If you want to customize further, several add-ons are available. You can upgrade to premium channels like HBO, Showtime, or Starz, add an unlimited streams option for households with lots of viewers, or go ad-free on Hulu’s on-demand content (live TV will still include ads).

Overall, Hulu + Live TV is less about being the cheapest option and more about being the most comprehensive. It’s built for people who want live TV, on-demand shows, and bundled streaming services all under one roof — without having to piece everything together themselves.

Can you stream the 2025 NWSL season for free?

There is no streaming service that will allow you to watch the entire season for free since it stretches from March through November. There are services that come with free trials if you want to make sure they are the correct choice for you, however.

DIRECTV STREAM’s trial is the longest, at five days in length. Once your trial ends, this streamer’s larger channel plans start at $87 per month; you’ll need one of these to get ABC and CBS with your subscription.

Hulu + Live TV has a three-day free trial for all new customers, and you get ESPN+ free as part of the Disney Bundle with this service as well.

Fubo’s trial lasts between one day and seven, depending on factors like what time of month you subscribe. Similarly, YouTube TV’s trial lasts between two and 14 days, but you won’t find out how long your trial actually is until you’ve started the sign-up process.

Paramount+ has a seven-day trial standard for all new subscribers.

Prime Video comes with a 30-day free trial for new customers if you sign up for the complete Amazon Prime experience. Signing up for Prime Video as a standalone service will not get you access to the trial.
