"An Almost Christmas Story," the third and final holiday short installment from Alfonso Cuarón, will debut this Friday, Nov. 15.

When a curious young owl finds himself stuck in a Christmas tree bound for New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza and a lost young girl loses her way in the big city, the unlikely duo come together to find their way home to their parents, forming an unusual bond. Disney+’s “An Almost Christmas Story,” the third and final installment in Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón’s holiday shorts collection, will premiere on the streamer on Friday, Nov. 15. About “An Almost Christmas Story”

Directed by David Lowery and produced by five-time Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón, “An Almost Christmas Story” follows Moon (voiced by Cary Christopher), a curious young owl who finds himself stuck in a Christmas tree destined for Rockefeller Plaza. As he attempts to escape the big city, Moon befriends a lost young girl named Luna (Estella Madrigal), and the pair embark on a heartwarming journey to find home while discovering the magic of the holiday season and forming an unlikely bond.

The voice cast also includes Jim Gaffigan as Papa Owl, Mamoudou Athie as Pelly, Alex Ross Perry as Dave The Dog, Gianna Joseph as Peaky, Phil Rosenthal as Punt, and Natasha Lyonne as Pat. John C. Reilly will also play The Folk Singer, who performs four songs in the short, including two original songs.

Lowery co-wrote the script with Jack Thorne from a story by Thorne and Cuarón. “An Almost Christmas Story” is the third and final installment in Cuarón’s holiday shorts collection for Disney+, following Oscar nominee “Le Pupille” (2022) and “The Shepherd” (2023).

What Other Holiday Shows and Movies Can I Watch On Disney+?

In addition to “An Almost Christmas Story,” you can currently watch both of the other Cuarón shorts “Le Pupille” and “The Shepherd,” but there are plenty of other great titles to watch during the most wonderful time of the year, from last year’s “Doctor Who” Christmas special to yearly classics like the “Home Alone” franchise, “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and more.
