About “Janet Planet”
The feature directorial debut of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker, the coming-of-age drama “Janet Planet” is set in rural Western Massachusetts in the summer of 1991 and follows Janet (Julianne Nicholson), a magnetic acupuncturist, and her 11-year-old daughter, Lacy (Zoe Ziegler), whose imagination is more thrilling than her reality. Across the three months, three strangers captivated by Janet enter their orbit, and Lucy, left to her own solitude, “inhabits an inner world so extraordinarily detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world.”
The drama also stars Elias Koteas, Sophie Okonedo, Will Patton as Wayne, Mary Shultz, Edie Moon Kearns, June Walker Grossman, and Abby Harri as Emily.
