About “Charlie Hustle & The Matter of Pete Rose”

“Charlie Hustle & The Matter of Pete Rose” will take a retrospective journey across six decades in which Rose – nicknamed Charlie Hustle for his do-or-die tenacity – was investigated by the MLB and eventually found to be betting on games while he was the manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Not one to go quietly into the night, Rose fought the ban to be reinstated and take (in his mind) his rightful place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. During his career, Rose won three World Series titles and overtook Ty Cobb for most career hits, but his off-the-field antics would eventually land him in jail for tax evasion. You can hear the entire story first-hand from the man who lived it in “Charlie Hustle & The Matter of Pete Rose” debuting on Wednesday, July 24 on Max.
