About ‘Couples Therapy’
The Television Critics Association Award-winning documentary series “Couples Therapy” returns for the second installment of its fourth season.
Through nine new episodes, world-renowned psychologist/psychoanalyst Dr. Orna Guralnik invites us to be a fly on the wall as couples go through real-life therapy sessions and navigate the intimate and complex issues affecting their relationships as the empathetic and adept Dr. Guralnik helps them break through their blocks.
Among the four new couples on the couch for the second half of the season are “a Deaf man and his hearing partner torn between sexual freedom and commitment, a young couple haunted by trauma and buried secrets, a long-married pair trapped in cycles of bickering and avoidance, and a therapist-writer duo locked in a zero-sum battle of sacrifice and grievance that pushes Orna to question her own methods.”
Couples Therapy
Far from reality-show caricatures, this is true documentary filmmaking that brings viewers into the authentic and visceral experience of weekly therapy with four couples. World-class therapist Dr. Orna Guralnik deftly guides the couples through the minefield of honest confrontation with each other and with themselves, revealing the real-life struggles — and extraordinary breakthroughs — typically hidden behind closed doors.
