The ‘Yellowstone’ saga continues with ‘Dutton Ranch’

Beth and Rip head to South Texas in order to put the ghosts of Yellowstone in the rearview mirror.

With a background in sports and entertainment reporting, he’s covered everything from Broadway to college football. He cut the cord in 2014 and has a sharp eye for streaming trends and a soft spot for Hallmark movies.

Nearly a year and a half after the “Yellowstone” finale, the story of the Dutton family continues with the premiere of “Dutton Ranch.” As Beth and Rip distance themselves from Yellowstone, they are confronted by even more challenges as they set up their own ranch in South Texas. The new series is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Friday, May 15 at 3:01 a.m. ET and then on Paramount Network that night at 8 p.m. ET. Can you watch ‘Dutton Ranch’ for free?

Yes and no. Paramount+ does not currently offer a free trial, but the platform is running a great deal through the end of March, which allows you to get your first two months of service for just $3 apiece. So, you will be able to save on watching the first few episodes of “Dutton Ranch” through that deal.

However, there are other ways to see the show and save. Since episodes will air on Paramount Network in the evening after they debut on streaming, you can find some free trial opportunities from live TV streaming services. There are four live streamers that carry Paramount Network and also offer free trials. While none of them will be long enough for you to watch the entire season without having to pay, they do provide options.

YouTube TV is currently offering up to a 21-day free trial, which is far and away the longest option on the market. Now, keep in mind that it won’t be available to all users, but for three free weeks, it is definitely worth going through the signup process to see if you qualify.

DIRECTV has the longest guaranteed trial in the industry at five days, and Hulu + Live TV comes in next with three free days. However, keep in mind that you get the complete Disney Bundle with a Hulu subscription, meaning that you also have access to Hulu and Disney+ and the new ESPN Unlimited streamer as well. Fubo also offers a free trial, which can run from one to seven days.

Since none of these options will allow you to stream the entire first season for free, figuring out which one is right for you will be a balance of the trial length, the cost after the trial expires, and what perks, bonuses, and benefits come with a subscription.
