Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces the new family crime drama set inside British boxing.
STARZ is getting into the boxing crime-drama game with “Fightland,” and this one sounds like it’s built for people who want family drama, revenge, criminal empires, and a whole lot of bad blood. The new series comes from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who obviously has a long history with STARZ thanks to the “Power” universe. But “Fightland” is also a pretty big deal for the network itself because it’s STARZ’s first wholly owned series as it builds out its slate as a standalone company. Here’s everything you need to know before “Fightland” hits streaming.
Everything you need to know about ‘Fightland’
When does ‘Fightland’ come out?
“Fightland” premieres Friday, July 31, on STARZ. New episodes will stream weekly on Fridays on the STARZ app and across STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
Can you watch ‘Fightland’ for free once it starts streaming?
Nope. STARZ doesn’t currently offer a standard free trial. Since “Fightland” is a STARZ series, you’ll need a STARZ subscription to watch it once it premieres. STARZ costs $12 per month, and the service is ad-free. That said, STARZ often runs cheaper promo deals for new or returning subscribers, so it’s worth keeping an eye out before you sign up.

What is ‘Fightland’ about?
“Fightland” follows Duke Kilroy, a former world heavyweight champion whose life falls apart on what should be the best night of his career. After Duke wins the title, a violent attack leaves his brother Calvin dead. Duke snaps, and what happens next sends him to prison in the United States for eight years. Once he gets out, he makes a dark discovery and heads back to London looking for revenge.
The person Duke blames is Kingsley Marshall, a criminal kingpin and former boxing promoter who Duke believes set him up. But when Duke gets home, Kingsley is gone. That leaves Kingsley’s wife, Joy, and his children stuck dealing with the wreckage. And of course, because this is exactly the kind of show where every relationship needs to be messy, Joy also happens to be the love of Duke’s life.
From there, Duke starts playing a very dangerous game. He links up with a cartel trying to take control of London’s drug market, then uses that connection to get inside Kingsley’s empire and try to destroy it from within. His plan is to burn the whole thing down and force Kingsley out of hiding. But the deeper Duke gets, the harder it becomes to stay focused on revenge without getting swallowed by the same violent world he’s trying to take apart.
Who stars in ‘Fightland’?
