About ‘James Acaster: Hecklers Welcome’
In his latest comedy tour and standup special, English standup James Acaster returns to the stage to explore his love/hate relationship with the art form by relinquishing control of his set and accepting (and bargaining with) some heckling. As Acaster shares stories from his childhood that led him down the comedy career path, he also shares on-the-fly meta-analysis of his own material and the audience’s participation.
Acaster wrapped up his “Hecklers Welcome” tour this summer in Dublin. The special, produced and directed by Stuart Laws, was filmed at the Royal & Derngate Theater in Northampton, England, in the final leg of the tour. It follows 2018’s “Repertoire,” 2020’s “Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999,” and 2021’s “James Acaster: Make a New Tomorrow.”
