About ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’
The movie takes place centuries after the first hyper-intelligent ape named Caesar helped to liberate his kind and set the entire planet marching toward a new destiny. Apes live harmoniously in the world Caesar created for them, while humanity is relegated to eking out whatever existence it can, so long as it stays in the shadows and does not upset the natural order.
But not all is well in the world of the apes. A tyrannical leader has taken over, trying to build a new empire for apes at any cost. In the midst of this, a young chimpanzee takes a journey with a human companion that will completely change everything he knew about the world around him and could change the future of his kind.
