About ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’
“Mama June: Family Crisis” follows Mama June Shannon and her daughters, Alana Thompson and Lauryn Efrid, better known as Honey Boo Boo and Pumpkin. The spin-off, which is now in its eighth season, showcases the family’s lives after “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” Season 6 wrapped up with the tragic passing of Anna, who lost her battle with cancer.
In the new season, June is fighting for custody of Anna’s daughter, Kaitlyn. Meanwhile, Alana is focusing on her college education while trying to get back the money June owes her. It looks like this won’t be an easy task, driving a wedge between the mom and daughter. Dralin and Alana’s relationship is still sailing smoothly, though he faces legal trouble that may shake things up. On the other hand, there’s trouble in paradise for Pumpkin and Josh. It’s possible their relationship can’t take the heat, as teased in the trailer. With Mama June and her daughters, there is always drama and dysfunction going around, but they also have lots of love to give.
Mama June: Family Crisis
June Shannon (‘Mama June’) gained fame as the mother of young beauty-pageant contestant ‘Honey Boo Boo’ (Alana Thompson) on various reality shows. With that notoriety came jokes from comedians and people on social media about her weight. Ending her marriage to Sugar Bear and facing health issues, Mama June wants to slim down so she can start a new life with a new body and, she hopes, a new love.
