The show has been getting incredible reviews from critics and is being hailed as the next great TV mockumentary.
NBC is headed back to the well for another mockumentary TV comedy show – this time set at an understaffed hospital in Oregon. “St. Denis Medical” debuts Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock. Staring an ensemble cast featuring Wendi McLendon-Covey as Joyce, the hospital’s ambitious executive director, “St. Denis Medical” follows in the footsteps of previous hits like “The Office” and “Parks And Recreation” by using the tried and true mockumentary style where characters talk directly to camera. About ‘St. Denis Medical’
Co-created by Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin – both of whom have more than enough experience writing comedy - “St. Denis Medical” follows a dedicated (if eccentric) team of medical professionals trying to provide quality care while battling through limited resources and plenty of personal drama. The ensemble cast features Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier as Ron, a seasoned emergency department doctor, and Allison Tolman as Alex, the supervising nurse.
Spitzer was a writer on “The Office” before creating “Superstore” and “American Auto” with Ledgin beside him. Ledgin also worked on comedies like “Rutherford Falls,” “Mrs. Fletcher,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
