What is ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 5 about?
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is a prequel series in the “Power” universe that follows Kanan Stark before he becomes the dangerous kingpin fans know from the original show. Across the first four seasons, Kanan starts as a kid trying to understand his place in his mother’s world, only to get pulled deeper into the drug business, family betrayal, and the kind of violence that slowly changes who he is. Season 5 finds Kanan ready to take control alongside Breeze, while Raq’s shocking return makes it clear that the mother-son relationship at the center of the series has basically hit the point of no return.
The final season brings the whole dangerous world crashing together, with the Thomas family facing the possible collapse of their reign, Unique trying to protect his legacy, the Mafia maneuvering behind the scenes, and Kanan becoming colder, smarter, and more ruthless with every move he makes. “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” Season 5 stars Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, Shameik Moore, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Joey Bada$$, and Hailey Kilgore. And while this is the final season of “Raising Kanan,” it’s not the end of the story, since “Power: Origins” is already in production and will pick up after the events of the finale.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan
Set in South Jamaica, Queens, in 1991, this prequel to “Power” revolves around the coming of age of Kanan Stark.
