[A24]’s two-time Oscar-nominated “Sing Sing” may not have won either statuette at this year’s ceremony, but the prison-set drama was unquestionably one of the year’s best (and most underrated) films. Starring nominee Colman Domingo and an ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated RTA alumni, “Sing Sing” makes its streaming debut exclusively on Max on Friday, March 21, followed by its linear debut on HBO on Saturday, March 22, at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the film first with a subscription to Max!

About ‘Sing Sing’

A24’s “Sing Sing” is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA) program at Sing Sing, which brings art workshops in theatre, music, dance, and more to incarcerated individuals now at over 10 medium and maximum security New York prisons.

Colman Domingo stars as Divine G, who has been imprisoned at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison for a crime he didn’t commit and finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men.

Whose is in the cast of ‘Sing Sing’?

Oscar nominee Domingo leads the ensemble cast as John “Divine G” Whitfield with Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin playing a fictionalized version of himself opposite Sean San José and Paul Raci.

The supporting cast also consists of real-life formerly incarcerated men who were themselves alumni of the RTA program, portraying themselves in the film, including David “Dap” Giraudy, Patrick “Preme” Griffin, Mosi Eagle, James “Big E” Williams, Sean “Dino” Johnson, Dario Peña, Miguel Valentin, Jon-Adrian “JJ” Velazquez, Pedro Cotto, Camillo “Carmine” Lovacco, and Cornell “Nate” Alston.
