About “Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?”
The latest from Investigation Discovery, the new Max Original documentary series “Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?” takes an in-depth look at “the case that haunts the Midwest.” Across three episodes, the project from first-time filmmaker and former news photographer on the case Dylan Sires dives into the 2012 double abduction and murder of two cousins in Evansdale, Iowa: 10-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey and 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins.
The docuseries continues the unsolved case, using over seven years of family footage, exclusive access, and insider interviews conducted by Sires, including an interview with Dezi Hughes, who was kidnapped in Dayton, Iowa, and escaped her abductor before she could be killed (the unfortunate fate of her friend, Kathlynn Shepard, who had been abducted with her). Through his work, Sires, while helping Elizabeth’s father, Drew, finds new information on the case, leading Drew to confront a man who could place a suspect in Evansdale around the time of the murder.
