What is ‘Tip Toe’ about?
“Tip Toe” follows Leo (Alan Cumming), the owner of a queer bar in Manchester, and Clive (David Morrissey), an electrician who lives next door with his wife and two sons. The two men have known each other for years, but their relationship begins to fracture as the atmosphere around them grows increasingly hostile and divided. What initially feels like tension between neighbors soon spreads into their families, workplaces, and wider community, with Leo encountering more overt anti-LGBTQ+ prejudice while Clive is gradually pulled toward a more radical worldview.
That growing divide appears to be the heart of the series, which looks at how political and cultural tensions can seep into everyday relationships and turn people who once peacefully coexisted against one another. Leo becomes more determined to protect his bar, his community, and the people closest to him, while Clive’s changing beliefs put increasing strain on his family and his relationship with Leo. Based on the trailer, the conflict does not remain purely ideological for long, either, as the escalating hostility appears to push both men toward a confrontation that could ultimately turn violent.
