About UFC 305: Du Plessis vs. Adesanya
In his last fight, Dricus Du Plessis won the middleweight title and will defend the belt for the first time. He is undefeated in his first seven UFC bouts but will be up against a man looking to make history. After 11 months away from the octagon, Israel Adesanya will attempt to become the first-ever three-time UFC middleweight champion in history. The two promise a history-making, high-octane matchup that very well could contend for fight-of-the-year status when all is said in done.
In the co-main event, two top-10 flyweights seek a measure of redemption as the fourth-ranked Kai Kara-France returns to UFC for the first time in nearly 14 months. He will face off against Perth’s hometime hero seventh-ranked Steve Erceg. The Australian lost his first championship opportunity in May at UFC 301 against Alexandre Pantoja, but will look to rebound.
The card will also feature lightweights Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker putting their multi-fight undefeated streaks on the line against each other. Hard-hitting heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik looking to climb up the weightclass standings, and veteran Li Jingliang taking on rookie Carlos Prates in a welterweight bout. The latter is off to a 2-0 start in his UFC career.
