About UFC 308: Topuria vs. Holloway
Two tactical strikers will take to the octagon in Abu Dhabi on Saturday as they battle for the UFC featherweight title. Champion Ilia Topuria (15-0) will defend his belt for the first time after he won the title from Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 in February. UFC’s youngest current champion will face the No. 2-ranked challenger Max Holloway (26-7), who is himself, the former featherweight champ. Holloway holds the UFC record for most significant strikes landed (3,378) and will look to extend that total on Saturday.
The co-main event on the card features two of the top middleweight contenders. Third-ranked Robert Whittaker (27-7) will take on rising star No. 13 Khamzat Chimaev (13-0) in a five-round bout rife with title implications. Whittaker, a former middleweight champion, enters UFC 307 on a two-match winning streak while Chimaev will put his undefeated record on the line as he takes a step up in competition.
