About ‘We Beat the Dream Team’
The 1992 Team U.S.A. Olympic basketball squad was an absolute juggernaut. It’s been called the best sports team ever assembled, and included Hall-of-Fame players at every position on the floor. The team went undefeated in Olympic play as most fans know, but before Olympic competition began, it lost a scrimmage to a squad of scrappy college kids.
“We Beat the Dream Team” tells the story of that scrimmage. The U.S.A. Select college team, featuring Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Bobby Hurley, Jamal Mashburn, Allan Houston, Rodney Rogers, and Eric Montross handed the Dream Team the only loss it would suffer in its path to the medals podium, and this documentary will take fans inside the game with rare footage and testimonials from players who were there.
