The next generation of pro wrestling superstars is set to christen a new era in WWE history as the wrestling promotion’s “WWE NXT” is moving to The CW beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Run by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, NXT is the training ground for the company’s best up-and-coming talent. On The CW premiere, the stars of NXT will be in Chicago for a special show kicking off at 8 p.m. ET. On hand will be one of the Windy City’s favorite sons, WWE icon CM Punk. Wrestling fans, you won’t want to miss a second of what should be an action-packed broadcast. I recommend watching the “WWE NXT” debut on The CW with a three-day free trial to Hulu + Live TV.

About ‘WWE NXT’ Premiere on The CW
After five years on the USA Network, “WWE NXT” is getting its first regular run on broadcast TV. Last fall it was announced that the training promotion would move off of NBCUniversal’s cable channel in favor of the broadcast network. This came one month after it was announced that “Friday Night Smackdown” would move to USA Network and two months before it was revealed that the WWE’s flagship show “Monday Night RAW” would migrate from its longtime home on USA to Netflix.
What Is the Card for ‘WWE NXT’ Premiere on The CW
Lola Vice and Jaida Parker vs. Fatal Influence
Two of NXT’s brightest young Superstars will team up as Jaida Parker and Lola Vice join forces to take on Fatal Influence. Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx have terrorized NXT since aligning, and since Parker and Vice can’t do it alone, they’ve been forced to put their differences aside in search of a win. Can Parker and Vice coexist, and which two members of Fatal Influence will be in the match?
Zachary Wentz vs. Wes Lee (Street Fight)
Former best friends and NXT Tag Team Champions Wes Lee and Zach Wentz will battle in a Street Fight in a bitter grudge match. TNA stars Wentz and his Rascalz teammate Trey Miguel surprised Lee in NXT and boosted his spirits, but Lee attacked them after they failed to regain the NXT Tag Team Title.
That brutal attack was followed by Wentz defeating Lee at NXT No Mercy, but The Cardiac Kid attacked Miguel in a parking lot in Ohio, setting the stage for a Street Fight between the two Superstars.
Miz TV with special guests Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo
The Miz will be in an NXT ring when he brings “Miz TV” to the NXT premiere on the CW Network with special guests Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo. Femi has been a dominant North American Champion and is just days away from setting the record for longest reign in history, but D’Angelo is determined to be the Superstar to dethrone him.
Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia for the NXT Women’s Championship
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez will defend her title against perhaps her toughest foe yet as she battles Giulia to kick off the NXT premiere on CW. The globally renowned Giulia confronted Perez at NXT No Mercy in September, and after a dominant showing against Chelsea Green, it was determined that the Japanese sensation would challenge Perez.
Two weeks of confrontations have paved the way for one of the most highly anticipated NXT Women’s Championship Matches ever.
Ethan Page (c) vs. Trick Williams for the NXT Championship (Special Guest Referee CM Punk)
The NXT Championship will be on the line when Ethan Page defends his title against former champion Trick Williams with Raw Superstar CM Punk serving as the Special Guest Referee. Williams lost the title to Page in a Fatal 4-Way Match at NXT Heatwave where Williams wasn’t even pinned, ushering in “The Era of Ego,” as Page calls it.
Williams outlasted Pete Dunne in a Last Man Standing Match to become the No. 1 Contender, and CM Punk came to NXT to reveal that he would be the Special Guest Referee in his hometown of Chicago.
Why I Recommend Hulu + Live TV to Watch ‘WWE NXT’ Premiere on The CW
When it comes to watching the very first episode of “WWE NXT” on The CW, I would recommend going with Hulu + Live TV for multiple reasons. The first — and likely the most important — is the fact that it comes with a three-day free trial. That means that you can check out all of the festivities without having to pay. Then, if you like the platform, you can decide to keep it.
The other major reason is because of the value that comes with it. Included in every Hulu + Live TV subscription is the full Disney Bundle, which means that in addition to the live TV streaming side of Hulu, you also get the service’s on-demand library as well as Disney+ and ESPN+. So, you get extra streaming options for a competitive live-streaming price.
Currently, the base price for Hulu + Live TV is $77 per month, but that will be going up in the coming weeks. Starting on Oct. 17, Disney is raising the prices on nearly all of their streaming services. At that point, the lowest price for Hulu.+ Live TV will be $83 per month. But, if you are just looking for the best way to stream NXT’s CW premiere, Hulu + Live TV is a great bet, because not only can you watch for three, but you get three days of tons more content at no cost.
