Back for its junior season, the hit SHOWTIME series “Yellowjackets” returns this Friday, Feb. 14, and after a long and terrifying winter, summer is here at last for the survivors, but their older counterparts must keep their own lives from unraveling as their pasts continue to be unearthed. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story, and coming-of-age drama, “Yellowjackets” premieres its third season this Friday on streaming, or Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. About ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 3
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the hit SHOWTIME series follows the saga of a high school girls’ soccer team who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Canadian wilderness. The series chronicles what happened in the woods as they attempt to survive the elements (and each other), while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together 25 years later.
In Season 3, summer arrives and the brutal winter is finally behind the Yellowjackets, but not without distrust in leadership and tension that jeopardizes their chances of being rescued. In the present day, the grown women try to keep their lives from unraveling as long-buried secrets from their pasts begin to surface.
“Yellowjackets” Season 3 will star Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, and Simone Kessell with Elijah Wood returning in a recurring role. Joining the new season will also be Hilary Swank and Joel McHale.
