New short-form romance streamer Love Drama launches
The service will offer two-minute episodes targeting customers who want binge-worthy content on the go.
Is short-form content going to be the next streaming craze? Considering the popularity of this type of video on platforms like YouTube and TikTok — especially among younger viewers — it’s hardly surprising that more entertainment companies are trying to roll out short-form video services. Kedoo Entertainment, which is based in the United Kingdom, is the next company to make such an attempt, announcing the launch of its new streamer Love Drama on Thursday.
Key Details:
- Download now: Love Drama is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store globally.
- Freemium: The app is free to download, with premium tiers and a token system
- Just a taste: Episodes will be less than two minutes in length.
The Love Drama app is available to download now from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Customers around the world can download the service, which offers content in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
The service will specialize in short-form drama and romance, with episodes less than two minutes in length. Its library will include originals developed in-house, and the app offers a mobile-first experience with vertical, full-screen streaming that aligns with the way social platforms offer video.
Viewers will be able to find new favorites through AI-driven recommendations that will help pair customers with a new show or movie much more effectively. Titles available will include “Billionaire’s Secret Baby,” “From Gate ‘A’ to Her Heart,” and “Wings After 40,” with new titles being added weekly.
The service offers a freemium payment structure. Price tiers will cost $8 for weekly access, $20 to go monthly, or $100 per year. Love Drama will also offer a token model, where customers can watch around 20 episodes for $2. All of the prices are consistent between USD, British pounds, and Euros.
Micro-dramas like those found on Love Drama are all the rage in Asia. The top five micro-drama apps in that region now have 150 million monthly active users, and some apps are seeing year-over-year revenue growth of nearly 4,000%. With short-form content becoming particularly popular among younger viewers, more and more streamers like Love Drama could launch in the coming years.
