ClipperVision streamer to be folded into FanDuel Sports Network
ClipperVision streamer to be folded into FanDuel Sports Network
The Los Angeles Clippers’ direct-to-consumer service will soon cease to function as a standalone app.
The LA Clippers were one of the first teams in the NBA to offer their games to fans on a direct-to-consumer (DTC) basis. In 2022, the team launched ClipperVision, a streaming service that allowed fans in the Los Angeles market to watch Clippers games without a pay-TV subscription. The ride is over, however, as a new report indicates that ClipperVision is being shut down ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Key Details:
- Clouded vision: ClipperVision is being shut down and folded into the FanDuel Sports Network service.
- Half the access: Clippers fans will have one way to stream games on a DTC basis this year.
- Going national?: The NBA looks to be readying the ground for a national in-market streamer in the coming years.
As reported by Sports Business Journal, ClipperVision is being shut down on Oct. 18. From then, Clippers fans in the L.A. area will only be able to stream the team on the FanDuel Sports Network streaming service, instead of finding them on both FanDuel and ClipperVision.
ClipperVision’s demise will be sad news for many fans, who came to enjoy unique features on the streamer such as CourtVision and Mascot mode. At the very least, FanDuel Sports Network is widely available; customers can sign up for the streamer on its own or through their Prime Video account.
Every Clippers game not shown on national channels or streaming services henceforward will be available to watch on FanDuel Sports Network. The team plays its games on FanDuel Sports Network SoCal and FanDuel Sports Network West, but its local rights are likely headed back to the league soon.
The Clippers’ local rights deal with FanDuel Sports Network’s parent company, Main Street Sports Group, expires following the 2026-27 season, and by that time the league will probably be ready to move forward with vision of a national streaming platform that distributes teams in local markets without blackouts.
Viewers can sign up for FanDuel Sports Network starting at $20 per month. In Los Angeles, Clippers fans can also watch the team on pay-TV with subscriptions to either DIRECTV’s CHOICE package for $90 per month, or the Fubo Pro plan for $85 per month.
FanDuel Sports Network
FanDuel Sports Network is a direct-to-consumer streaming service that offers live games for those who want access to your local FanDuel Sports Network RSN without subscribing to a cable or satellite package. It was most recently known as Bally Sports, and prior to that, Fox Sports Network.
