WBD announces when Max will begin offering AEW cotnent
The streamer will carry both live and on-demand shows from the wrestling promotion beginning in January.
All Elite Wrestling is coming to Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service Max. As per the terms of the deal struck between AEW and WBD in October, live and on-demand content from the wrestling promotion will become available to stream on Max for the first time. When the agreement was first announced, the two sides targeted January for when AEW shows would be available to stream on the platform. A more specific timetable has now been unveiled by WBD, which isn’t waiting long to bring pro wrestling to its streaming service.
Key Details:
- Live and on-demand AEW content hits Max on Jan. 1, 2025.
- The streamer plans to offer “AEW: Collision” and “AEW: Dynamite” episodes live.
- AEW library content will join Max on a rolling basis throughout the year.
For years, fans of AEW have been able to watch episodes of “AEW: Dynamite” and “AEW: Collision” on TBS and TNT respectively. But until the latest deal between AEW and WBD, those shows were not able to stream on Max.
That changes on Jan. 1, 2025, when fans will be able to stream AEW shows live and on-demand. On that date, “AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen” will stream live on Max simultaneous with its linear air time. “AEW: Collision” will also be available live, and episodes will become available to stream on-demand after their initial airing.
AEW library programming will also stream on Max. “AEW: Dynamite,” “AEW: Collision,” “AEW: Rampage,” and all AEW pay-per-view library content through the end of 2024 — representing more than 700 hours of AEW action — will be made available on Max on a rolling basis throughout 2025.
At launch, all “AEW: Dynamite” episodes and pay-per-views from 2019 will be found on Max. In addition, over two months of recent AEW programming that aired on WBD linear networks will be found on the streamer. Pay-per-view events from AEW are also coming to Max at some point later in 2025.
Max isn’t the only streaming service that will bring on new wrestling content in the new year. Netflix will welcome weekly live streams of ” WWE Raw” starting in January, in a deal that will see the streamer pay $500 million per year for the global rights.
