Keep the friendship, romance, and drama going with these perfect follow-ups.
“And Just Like That…” it’s over with Season 3. I don’t think there’s any controversy in saying the show isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it did surprise my wife and me. I thought it did a pretty great job showing what life, friendship, and identity shifts look like in your fifties. Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte are all dealing with huge changes — breakups, reinvention, parenting teenagers, even just figuring out how to dress in a world that’s moved on. And while the series just wrapped with the Season 3 finale on Thursday, Aug. 14 (the third season will be its last), there are a few other shows that scratch the itch this show did. So, if you’re wondering what to watch next, here are a few options.
And Just Like That…
This new chapter of “Sex and the City” follows Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.
Loved ‘And Just Like That…’? Watch: ‘The Bold Type’

If your favorite part of “And Just Like That…” is the brunches and real-talk convos between women who truly get each other, then “The Bold Type” on Hulu is a perfect follow-up. It follows Jane, Kat, and Sutton — three best friends working at a women’s magazine in New York — as they try to juggle careers, love lives, and personal growth without losing their minds (or each other).
It’s more millennial and definitely more Instagram-ready, but the emotional blueprint is similar: female friendship is the heart of it all. Where “And Just Like That…” explores life in your fifties, this one captures that mid-to-late twenties messiness. Think less divorce, more figuring out if your dream job is actually your dream. If you love a wardrobe moment or a big career swing, this one delivers. And with all five seasons available on Hulu, it’s perfect for a no-skips binge.

Watch next: ‘Girls’

While “And Just Like That…” leans into aspirational lifestyles and curated fashion, Lena Dunham’s “Girls” is the no-filter, sometimes-too-real version of that same New York chaos. It’s raw, awkward, and often wildly uncomfortable, but it’s also sharp and full of real emotional stakes.
If AJLT is about navigating your fifties with designer shoes and a deep friend history, “Girls” is about your twenties when you’re still figuring out who your real friends are and how many times you can screw up before things fall apart. The characters are messy, the jobs are dead-end, and the dating is a disaster… but it never stops being compelling. If you want a show that feels brutally honest but still deeply funny, this is it.
Girls
The assorted humiliations, disasters and rare triumphs of four very different twenty-something girls: Hannah, an aspiring writer; Marnie, an art gallery assistant and cousins Jessa and Shoshanna.

Watch next: “Younger”

“Younger” is a fun, twisty take on reinvention — which is kind of the core theme of “And Just Like That…” In “Younger,” Liza, a 40-year-old mom, pretends to be 26 to land a job in publishing. What follows is a blur of work drama, secret identities, millennial slang, and some surprisingly heartfelt love stories.
Where “And Just Like That…” deals with being seen as “past your prime” in love or work, “Younger” flips the script. What if you could pass for younger and start fresh? It also taps into that same female-forward storytelling, with strong friendships, romantic chaos, and a career arc that actually evolves. If you like watching characters reinvent themselves while navigating New York with a killer outfit and a secret, this one’s for you.
Younger
Liza Miller, a suddenly single stay-at-home mother, tries to get back into the working world, only to find it’s nearly impossible to start at the bottom at 40-year old. When a chance encounter convinces her she looks younger than she is, Liza tries to pass herself off as 26 and lands a job as an assistant at Empirical Press. Now she just has to make sure no one finds out the secret only she and her best friend Maggie share.
Wild card: ‘Emily in Paris’

Look, sometimes you just want something glossy, ridiculous, and escapist, and that’s where “Emily in Paris” comes in. This Netflix comedy drops you into a fashion fairytale where work problems somehow always end with a couture outfit and a champagne toast on a rooftop.
It doesn’t have the same emotional depth as “And Just Like That…” (there are fewer heart-to-hearts and more Instagram-worthy backdrops) but it taps into a similar fantasy of what it means to chase success and romance in a big city. Think of it as AJLT’s whimsical little cousin. If you’re in the mood to vibe with Parisian chaos, stunning outfits, and complicated flings that never get too heavy, this is the binge you queue up next.
