About A Man for All Seasons

A Man for All Seasons chronicles the compelling conflict between King Henry VIII and Sir Thomas More, his Lord Chancellor. More's unwavering Catholic faith prevents him from endorsing Henry's divorce and remarriage, and thus, from taking the Oath of Supremacy, which would acknowledge the King as the head of the Church of England. This sets in motion a chain of events that tests More's principles and ultimately leads to his tragic downfall. It is a battle of wills and a testament to the power of individual conscience against the machinery of state.
