About Breaking Away

Dave Stohler, a nineteen-year-old recent high school graduate, finds himself at a crossroads, much like his three close friends: Cyril, the group's resident comedian, Moocher, known for his big heart and quick temper, and Mike, the athletic but sometimes bitter one. Dave, however, possesses a unique passion: competitive cycling. He dreams of racing against the best Italian cyclists and becomes deeply immersed in Italian culture, adopting their mannerisms and language. This newfound obsession both amuses and frustrates his friends and his parents, who struggle to understand his aspirations. Breaking Away beautifully depicts Dave's journey as he strives to find his own path, challenging societal expectations and pursuing his dreams with unwavering determination.
