About Contempt

Jeremy Prokosch, a crass film producer, is unhappy with Fritz Lang's progress on an adaptation of The Odyssey, feeling it lacks commercial appeal. He hires screenwriter Paul Javal to inject some energy into the script. However, tensions rise when Prokosch's overtures towards Paul's wife, Camille, create a rift between the couple. Paul's professional life bleeds into his personal one, as jealousy and misunderstanding erode his marriage, turning the idyllic Mediterranean landscape into a backdrop for emotional turmoil. This is a story about art, commerce and the price you pay.
