About Flags of Our Fathers
February 23, 1945: amidst the brutal Battle of Iwo Jima, Joe Rosenthal captured the iconic photograph of six men raising the American flag atop Mount Suribachi. Flags of Our Fathers focuses on three of these surviving servicemen: John Doc Bradley, a Navy Corpsman haunted by the horrors he witnessed, Private Rene Gagnon, a young soldier grappling with the weight of his newfound fame, and Private Ira Hayes, a Pima Native American struggling with the expectations placed upon him. The film follows their journey from the bloody sands of Iwo Jima to the home front, where they are paraded as symbols of American courage and resolve. However, beneath the surface of their heroic facade lies a complex web of guilt, trauma, and disillusionment. This is the story of how these ordinary men were transformed into national icons, and the personal toll that their manufactured heroism took on them.

How to stream with ExpressVPN
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an app that encrypts your internet connection and masks your IP address, allowing you to stream securely and bypass restrictions.
Why Use a VPN for Streaming?
- Bypass Geo-Restrictions: Many streaming services are geographically restricted. If you’re traveling outside the U.S., a VPN can make it appear as if you’re still in the country, giving you access to your subscriptions.
- Avoid ISP Throttling: Your internet provider might slow down your connection during high-bandwidth activities like streaming. A VPN encrypts your activity, preventing your ISP from throttling your speeds and ensuring a smooth, buffer-free experience.
- Increase Privacy: A VPN protects your data on non-secure public Wi-Fi networks by creating an encrypted tunnel, safeguarding your personal information while you stream.
