About It Felt Like Love

During a sweltering South Brooklyn summer, 14-year-old Lila finds herself on the periphery of her friend Chiara's more experienced life, observing Chiara's relationship with her boyfriend, Patrick. Feeling like a perpetual third wheel, Lila yearns for her own sexual experiences. Determined to break free from her innocence, she sets her sights on Sammy, an older, somewhat intimidating neighborhood figure known for his casual relationships. Lila's pursuit of Sammy becomes a journey of self-discovery, fraught with the anxieties and uncertainties of adolescence. She confronts her own desires, insecurities, and the confusing signals of attraction, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality as she navigates this formative chapter of her life.
