About Leaving Las Vegas

Leaving Las Vegas tells the story of Ben Sanderson, a once-successful Hollywood screenwriter now consumed by alcoholism. Having lost everything, he journeys to Las Vegas with the explicit intention of drinking himself to death. Amidst the neon glow and relentless energy of the city, Ben encounters Sera, a prostitute navigating her own difficult path. They forge an unconventional relationship built on mutual understanding and a shared acceptance of their respective lifestyles. Their connection is governed by a non-interference pact, a fragile agreement not to interfere with each other's self-destructive tendencies. Despite the darkness that surrounds them, a flicker of genuine affection emerges, offering a glimpse of hope amidst the despair. This is not a tale of redemption, but a poignant exploration of two lost souls finding solace in each other's company, even as they hurtle towards their own destruction.
